Margherita Della Valle (born 13 April , Veneto)[1] is an Italianbusinesswoman who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vodafone since January [2][3] Della Valle was elected Chairman of Group,[4] the association that brings together FTSE CFOs.[5]

Early life

Della Valle was born and grew up in Veneto Region, Italy.[6]

Biography

Della Valle attended Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco.[1] She holds a master's degree in economics from Bocconi University.[7]

During her early career, Della Valle became part of Omnitel Pronto Italia, which transitioned to Vodafone Italy in [8] She started at the company as a marketing analyst.[9] She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone Italy between and [8][10]

Between and , Della Valle served as Vodafone's Deputy Chief Financial Officer.[8][10]

In April , Della Valle was appointed as the CEO of Vodafone, becoming the first female CEO of the company.[7] Prior to officially assuming the role, Della Valle temporarily assumed the role in January , succeeding Nick Read.[7][11][12]

In , she ranked 42nd in Forbes list of "World's most powerful women".[13]

She was ranked 36th on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women in [14]

Personal Life

Della Valle is married and has two sons.

She currently resides in London.[9]
