Birth/childhood • Birth • William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 23 • Baptized on April 26, • Childhood • Attended a free grammar school in Stratford • Only attended school until he was 16 years old • Married Anne Hathaway when he was only 18 years old while she was 26 years old and pregnant

  3. “The lost years” • The First Lost Years () • This is the period between where Shakespeare leaves school until he marries Anne Hathaway • He left school in order to help his father stabilize his financial endeavors • Some think he may have learnt the occupation of lending money as his father was in this business • The Second Lost Years () • This period takes place between Shakespeare's marriage to Anne Hathaway until his move to London
